Event Overview
Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, hosted the International Conference on Transition, Resilience and Applied Economics (ICTRAE 2026) on June 30, 2026. The two‑day conference was organized by MUJ’s Department of Economics, TAPMI School of Business, Faculty of Management, Commerce and Arts, and aimed to provide a national platform for interdisciplinary discussion on economic transition, climate resilience, financial stability, public policy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, ESG practices and sustainable development.
Inauguration and Leadership
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Amit Soni, Registrar of MUJ, and Dr. Brajesh Kumar, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Commerce and Arts, along with university leadership, department heads, faculty and delegates. A traditional lamp‑lighting ceremony marked the opening.
Keynote Addresses
The inaugural keynote was delivered by Dr. Naresh Chandra Sahu, Associate Professor at IIT Bhubaneswar, on “ESG Performance: Evolution, Investor Behaviour, and Research Evidence from an Emerging Market,” emphasizing the growing importance of ESG for responsible investment and long‑term growth in emerging economies. The valedictory keynote was presented by Dr. Sarthak Gaurav of IIT Bombay on “Some Thoughts on Complexity Economics,” offering insights into complex economic systems and their policy implications for inclusive growth and sustainability.
Academic Participation
The conference attracted scholars and participants from premier institutions including IITs, NITs, central universities, state universities and other leading higher‑education establishments across India, reflecting its rising academic stature.
Program Structure
Five thematic technical tracks were scheduled, comprising keynote lectures, expert sessions and panel discussions covering topics such as economic transition, climate resilience, financial stability, digital transformation, AI, and ESG. Distinguished scholars such as Dr. Ayona Bhattacharjee (IMI New Delhi), Dr. Tulika Tripathi (Central University of Gujarat) and Dr. Vishal Dagar (Great Lakes Institute of Management) delivered expert lectures, while technical sessions were chaired by eminent academicians from premier institutions.
Outcomes and Vision
The organizing committee stated that ICTRAE 2026 emerged as a vibrant platform for advancing interdisciplinary research, encouraging academic collaborations and strengthening evidence‑based policy dialogue. The conference aligns with MUJ’s vision of contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing India’s research and innovation ecosystem.
