Market Technology Acquisition Corp Raises $205M IPO

Market Technology Acquisition Corp, incorporated as a Cayman Islands exempted company, successfully closed its initial public offering of 20,500,000 units at a price of $10.00 per unit, generating gross proceeds of $205,000,000. The IPO also comprised 500,000 units issued through a partial exercise of the underwriters’ over‑allotment option.

The units commenced trading on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker symbol MTAKU on July 24, 2026. Each unit consists of one Class A ordinary share and one‑half of one redeemable warrant; a whole warrant is exercisable to purchase one Class A ordinary share at $11.50 per share. Upon separation, the ordinary shares are expected to trade under the symbol MTAK, while the warrants will trade under MTAKW.

The company disclosed that net proceeds from the IPO, together with simultaneous private placements, will be employed to complete an initial business combination and to fund working‑capital requirements. Its strategic focus is on businesses operating within the global capital markets ecosystem, specifically licensed U.S. equities and options clearing businesses, market‑infrastructure providers, and post‑trade, brokerage, custody, execution, and financial‑technology platforms.

BTIG, LLC acted as the sole book‑running manager for the offering. The Securities and Exchange Commission declared the registration statement effective on July 23, 2026.

The management team includes Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Slone and Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer Christopher Hayes.
