Event Overview

On June 29, 2026, in Kathmandu, Nepal, MAXHUB participated in the "2026 Leadership Policy Dialogue in South Asia: Charting Responsible and Innovative AI Integration in Higher Education." The dialogue was jointly hosted by the UNESCO Kathmandu Office, Tribhuvan University, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under UNESCO (UNESCO‑ICHEI). Approximately 120 representatives attended in person and more than 100 participants joined online.

Participants

The gathering brought together government officials, higher‑education leaders, industry experts and representatives from international organisations across Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bhutan and additional countries such as China and France. Notably, 13 university presidents and 26 deans were present, representing institutions including Tribhuvan University (Nepal), University of Dhaka (Bangladesh), University of Colombo (Sri Lanka), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (Pakistan), Maldives National University and Royal University of Bhutan.

MAXHUB Presentation

Li Hao, representing MAXHUB, delivered the company’s vision for technology‑enabled education transformation. He highlighted that South Asia hosts roughly 50,000 higher‑education institutions and enrolls over 42 million students, making it the world’s second‑largest region by higher‑education enrolment. MAXHUB demonstrated its portable capture system, a solution designed to overcome common infrastructure constraints in the region by enabling both live streaming and recorded content distribution with high quality and flexibility.

Strategic Commitments

Throughout the event, MAXHUB officials engaged with university leaders to understand regional needs and explore collaboration opportunities, reaffirming the company’s commitment to supporting South Asia’s digital transformation through practical technology solutions. The dialogue focused on the digital transformation of higher education in South Asia and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into university ecosystems. The event also marked the official launch of the IIOE Nepal National Centre.
