Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. commissioned the stealth frigate INS Taragiri, the third vessel in the Project 17A series, into the Indian Navy on April 3, 2026.
The 149-meter, 6,400-tonne frigate features advanced stealth, weaponry, and automation, with 75% indigenous content, aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The build period for the vessel was reduced by 14% compared to the first-of-class, with sea trials completed within three months of basin trials.
