Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) is implementing Special Campaign 6 for e-waste management across its headquarters and operational areas until October 31, 2026. The campaign focuses on systematic waste collection, environmental awareness, and cleanliness promotion throughout MCL establishments.

As part of the initiative, e-waste collection kiosks have been established across MCL areas to facilitate collection and responsible disposal of discarded electronic items through authorized recycling channels. Employees at both headquarters and operational areas are participating in the campaign, contributing to cleanliness initiatives and promoting environmentally responsible practices.

Awareness activities are being conducted to educate employees and nearby communities about the harmful effects of improper e-waste disposal, including soil and water contamination risks to human health and the environment.

In the first week of implementation, MCL has made significant progress by cleaning 73 out of 240 identified sites, covering an area of 306,663 square feet against a target of 1,000,000 square feet. The campaign also targets disposal of 600 metric tonnes of scrap, with 350 HEMM batteries already disposed of, generating revenue through scrap disposal.

Through Special Campaign 6, MCL is reinforcing its commitment to workplace cleanliness, environmental protection, and responsible e-waste management in support of national objectives for a cleaner, more sustainable, and resource-efficient future.
