Ownership Structure

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will initially hold 100% stake in the subsidiary. The company may subsequently seek other partners to hold shares in the Subsidiary Company.

Business Purpose

The subsidiary will develop a well-regulated, technology-driven platform for buying and selling mined natural resources. This initiative aims to create a transparent, standardized digital platform for physical delivery of minerals at market-driven prices. MCX will leverage its commodity exchange governance, surveillance, and clearing & settlement mechanisms to support the mined mineral ecosystem as envisioned by the Government of India.

Regulatory Requirements

Following SEBI approval, a license application will be submitted to Indian Bureau of Mines as and when prescribed.

Financial Details

  • Investment Amount: Up to ₹100 crore investment capital to comply with minimum net worth requirement as per draft Mineral Exchange Rules
  • Share Price: Acquisition at par value of ₹10 per share
  • Consideration: Cash consideration
