- The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) launched NPS Swasthya on October 1, 2026 (NPS Diwas)

- NPS Swasthya integrates retirement savings with health protection under the National Pension System framework
Medi Assist's Role as Health Benefit Administrator (HBA):
- Medi Assist has been appointed as the first Health Benefit Administrator for the NPS Swasthya initiative

- Allows withdrawals of up to 25% of subscriber's own contributions for eligible outpatient and inpatient expenses
- No cap on the number of withdrawals
- No minimum waiting period between withdrawals
- Payments are made directly to healthcare providers
- Delivered instantly and seamlessly via the HBA platform
Subscriber Safeguards:
- Strong data protection measures: information sharing only where necessary, proportionate, and tied to specific purpose
- Requires subscriber's recorded consent or other lawful basis for data sharing
- Single point of contact for grievances through PFRDA's Pension Sahayak platform
- Grievance coverage across Pension Funds, CRAs, HBA, and insurers
