Medoc Health, an artificial‑intelligence‑driven hospital and patient‑care automation venture founded by Chandigarh University Computer Science and Engineering graduate Utkarsh Luthra, announced that its solutions are now deployed in 98 hospitals across five Indian states. The startup, incubated within the Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator (CU‑TBI), has achieved a current valuation of ₹22 crore and reported annual revenue of ₹1.26 crore for the fiscal year 2025‑26.
Funding and Financials
The venture received an initial seed investment of ₹10 lakh from NIT Jalandhar under the Startup India mission, has secured an additional ₹50 lakh from an angel investor, and is in discussions to raise a further ₹50 lakh from NIT Jalandhar. These funds support product development, market expansion, and operational scaling.
Product Suite and Technology
Medoc Health has built an integrated healthcare platform comprising nine products that address the full spectrum of hospital operations and patient care. The flagship hospital management system, Axon, handles outpatient and inpatient services, billing, inventory, pharmacy, human resources, and finance. DocAssist assists clinicians with clinical documentation and prescription generation, while Monarcs employs AI to analyse medical images, flagging more than 40 possible findings in X‑rays, CT scans, and MRIs. The diagnostics engine can interpret over 60 diagnostic panels. Additional solutions include Medoc One for automating insurance and cash‑less claim processes, Medoc Care for compliance and accreditation documentation, Medoc Call – a patient‑facing app that stores digital health records such as prescriptions, reports, vitals, vaccinations and allergies, and Medoc Sync, hardware that captures handwritten prescriptions, laboratory reports and clinical notes in up to 12 Indian languages. The platform is offline‑first, allowing essential workflows to continue despite unreliable internet connectivity, and it consolidates information from doctors, nurses, diagnostics, insurance and patients into a unified system, reducing repetitive paperwork and accelerating information access at the point of care.
Cost Advantage and Market Focus
According to the founder, conventional automation solutions for a 100‑bed hospital typically cost between ₹8 lakh and ₹10 lakh, whereas Medoc’s solution can be deployed for approximately ₹3 lakh, delivering cost reductions of up to 60 percent. The company targets Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 cities where hospitals often lack robust IT infrastructure, have limited budgets, and rely heavily on paper‑based processes. Offline functionality, multilingual support, and the ability to digitise paper records are designed to lower adoption barriers in semi‑urban and rural settings.
Team and Development Approach
Medoc’s development has been informed by a ground‑level approach that includes input from hospital administrators, clinicians and frontline staff. The startup’s advisory board comprises 14 clinicians, and the product team has logged more than 400 hours of field observations to ensure that solutions address real‑world workflow challenges rather than merely adapting conventional software.
Incubation Support
The CU‑TBI incubator provided Medoc with mentorship, research and technology infrastructure, academic flexibility, industry exposure, networking opportunities, and access to funding and business support, which were instrumental in bringing the suite of products to market.
