On July 17, 2026, Medtronic plc and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd announced the inauguration of an 11‑bed intensive care unit, branded “ICU of the Future”, at Apollo Hospitals’ Jubilee Hills campus in Hyderabad. The facility is fully integrated with Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) technologies and is positioned as a real‑world clinical innovation hub for Medtronic’s research and development activities in India.
Partnership Details
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group; Manpreet Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo HealthAxis; and Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director & Vice President – India Subcontinent Countries, Medtronic. The ceremony was attended by senior global leaders from both organisations, including Kate Benedict (SVP and President, Acute Care Monitoring, Medtronic), Jason Case (VP, R&D, Acute Care Monitoring, Medtronic), Dev Joshua (Senior Director, Digital Health, Medtronic), Gauri Joglekar (Senior Director, Portfolio R&D and PMO – Innovation Delivery, Medtronic), Divya Prakash Joshi (VP, Engineering and Board Member, Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center), Tejesvi Rao (CEO – Apollo Hospitals AP&TG), Dr. Sai Praveen Haranath (Chief Physician and Innovation Officer, Apollo), and Dr. Rahul Khandelwal (VP, Partnerships and Client Solutioning, Apollo).

The partnership aims to strengthen critical‑care infrastructure, enable data‑driven clinical decision‑making, and generate real‑world insights that will inform the development of future Medtronic technologies for India and globally. Medtronic’s statement emphasized that meaningful innovation is grounded in strong clinical collaboration, while Apollo highlighted the goal of delivering more connected, intelligent ICUs that can anticipate patient deterioration and personalise care.
