Meta Platforms Reduces Outsourcing to Wipro
Meta Platforms announced an AI‑driven restructuring that led to the closure of its digital marketing division and a cut of at least 25 % in the information‑technology work it outsources to Wipro Ltd, according to a Mint report citing two sources familiar with the matter.
Impact on Wipro’s Revenue
Following the reduction, Wipro expects to generate approximately $75 million in annual revenue from Meta, down from about $100 million earned in fiscal year 2026. Meta remains among Wipro’s top‑20 accounts despite the decline.
Other Affected Service Providers
The same pullback by Meta also affects other global outsourcing firms: Concentrix Corporation, Teleperformance SE, and Accenture Plc are reported to have lost portions of the digital‑marketing outsourcing business previously handled for Meta.
Market Reaction
At the time of reporting, Meta’s shares were up 3.28 %, while Wipro’s stock fell 1.44 %.
