Mindgate and J.P. Morgan Deploy Next‑Gen UPI Platform

At the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on 11 September 2026, Mindgate Solutions and J.P. Morgan Payments announced the successful deployment of a next‑generation Unified Payments Interface (UPI) infrastructure. The new infrastructure runs on Mindgate’s Unified Digital Payment Hub (UDPH), a cloud‑based platform built for high reliability, scale, resilience and flexibility, and extends an existing engagement that already supports Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) on the same platform.

The UPI solution is designed to handle the volume and velocity of India’s real‑time payments market, enabling seamless, high‑volume payment flows for J.P. Morgan’s corporate and merchant clients. It supports instant collection use‑cases ranging from QR code payments to Intent‑based flows and UPI Autopay, while incorporating real‑time regulatory checks and robust failure isolation and recovery mechanisms.

Key Executive Remarks

  • George Sam, Co‑founder & Business Head of Mindgate Solutions, said the collaboration reflects the importance of UPI as India’s transaction backbone and highlights the need to build infrastructure that can meet J.P. Morgan Payments’ scale from day one.
  • Guhan Muthuswamy, Co‑founder & Software Architect of Mindgate Solutions, emphasized the architecture’s design for mission‑critical UPI volumes, including regulatory compliance and fault tolerance.
  • Guhaprasath Rajagopal, Head of India Payments at J.P. Morgan Payments, noted that combining local rails such as UPI and IMPS with J.P. Morgan’s global network enables clients to manage collections, disbursements and cash flows across markets, including cross‑border inward remittances through Rupee Drawing Arrangement (RDA) corridors.
