Launch of Mirae Asset GIFT Sharekhan

Mirae Asset Capital Markets (India) announced the launch of Mirae Asset GIFT Sharekhan, the brand under which Mirae Asset Capital Markets (IFSC) Pvt. Ltd. will provide International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) brokerage services from GIFT City, Gujarat. The company secured a broker‑dealer licence from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), enabling it to commence operations within the IFSC ecosystem.

The new platform is positioned as a gateway for Indian investors seeking geographic diversification and exposure to global asset classes. Initially, investors can access US equities and exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) through the Global Access Platform of a partner, with plans to later allow global citizens to invest in Indian markets via the same brand.

Mirae Asset Capital Markets (India) highlighted its strategic evolution toward a comprehensive wealth‑management platform aligned with its Vision 2030 roadmap to become India’s most valued wealth creator. The launch complements the firm’s broader wealth proposition, which already includes mutual funds, ETFs, insurance, loans, and alternative investment products such as selective investment funds (SIFs) and alternative investment funds (AIFs) offered by its Mirae Asset Mutual Fund and Mirae Asset Venture Fund entities.

GIFT City, India’s first IFSC, hosts more than 1,000 operational entities and is central to linking Indian investors and institutions with global financial markets. The launch coincides with a sharp rise in investor interest in international diversification; RBI data indicate that remittance under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) grew from US$ 1.51 billion in FY 24 to US$ 2.65 billion in FY 26, a 75 % increase, underscoring the growing demand for cross‑border investment solutions.

Mirae Asset Sharekhan, a pioneer of online trading in India, reported a client base of over 32 lakh individuals, a network of more than 120 branches, and over 4,000 business partners as of 31 December 2025. The broker executes in excess of 8 lakh trades daily and offers a full suite of services, including stocks, IPOs, portfolio management services, AIFs, ETFs, corporate deposits, futures & options, commodities, bonds, and insurance. The Mirae Asset Financial Group, the global parent, manages client assets of USD 800.6 billion as of December 2025.

The launch event in GIFT City was attended by IFSCA officials, senior leadership from Mirae Asset Sharekhan, Mirae Asset Capital Markets (India), and Mirae Asset Financial Group, along with clients, partners, and distinguished guests. Mr. Moon Kyung Kang, CEO of Mirae Asset Capital Markets (India) and Mirae Asset Sharekhan, emphasized the firm’s commitment to innovation, the expansion of its product suite, and the strategic importance of the IFSC platform for delivering globally diversified investment opportunities.
