Mitsubishi Electric and Sony Form Joint Venture for AI Vision Sensors
Mitsubishi Electric announced on 22 July 2026 that it has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Sony Semiconductor Solutions, a subsidiary of Sony Group. The agreement establishes a new joint venture called Advanced Vision Solutions Co., Ltd., which will develop and supply AI‑enabled vision sensor solutions specifically for the manufacturing industry. The joint venture is scheduled to begin operations in October 2026. Ownership of Advanced Vision Solutions Co., Ltd. will be divided with Mitsubishi Electric holding a 60% equity stake and Sony Semiconductor Solutions holding the remaining 40%.
