Initiative Overview
Mphasis, a global AI-led technology solutions provider, is supporting an environmental sustainability initiative led by SGBS Unnati Foundation in collaboration with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The initiative focuses on creating greener and more sustainable public spaces in Bengaluru through cross-sector collaboration.
Partnership Structure
- SGBS Unnati Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BMRCL for the maintenance of Pier Nos. BP-382 to BP-437
- The initiative will support upkeep of the designated metro corridor while contributing to cleaner and more sustainable public environment
- This represents a cross-sector approach combining institutional support, CSR participation and community-oriented implementation
CSR Commitment and Broader Environmental Projects
The initiative builds on Mphasis' broader CSR commitment of working with social organisations, government institutions and community stakeholders to address environmental and community priorities. Specific environmental projects include:
- Supporting planting and maintenance of 100,000 trees at Doddasagare Botanical Garden in Karnataka
- Contributing to revival of Bodanahosahalli Lake to enhance groundwater recharge and strengthen local biodiversity
- Establishing 1,200 percolation wells across Bengaluru with aim of conserving estimated 153 million litres of rainwater by 2026
