NavTech Announces OpticSpectra 10G QKD System

Nav Wireless Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (NavTech) introduced its OpticSpectra 10G QKD platform at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 held in New Delhi on 31 October 2026. The launch was witnessed by Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

The OpticSpectra 10G QKD combines Free‑Space Optical (FSO) communication with Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). It is capable of transmitting data at speeds of up to 10 Gbps over line‑of‑sight optical wireless links extending to a maximum distance of 5 km. By integrating QKD, the system enables the generation and exchange of cryptographic keys using quantum principles, adding a security layer to the high‑capacity link.

NavTech positions the solution for telecom infrastructure where laying fibre is challenging, as well as for defence and strategic networks that demand both high bandwidth and secure key exchange. The company describes the platform as a complementary layer alongside fibre, radio‑frequency and satellite networks, intended to address the dual need for capacity and security in future communication architectures.

In remarks, Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti stated that India’s progress in indigenous optical wireless and quantum technologies reflects the growing capabilities of the domestic ecosystem and can meaningfully contribute to the nation’s digital infrastructure and technological self‑reliance. Hardik Soni, Co‑Founder and Chief Technology Officer of NavTech, said the objective is to transition photonics technologies from Indian R&D into practical deployments, and that IMC provides a critical platform to demonstrate this shift from research to deployable deep‑tech systems.

No financial terms, pricing, or commercial agreements were disclosed in the release.
