Additional plants at Vijayawada, Indore and Rajkot are part of the same rollout and will be operational by year‑end.
Business Model
The firm employs an asset‑light land‑partner model: it partners with landowners who provide roughly 10 acres per site, while NexGen retains full responsibility for plant design, installation, and long‑term operations, including digesters, gas upgrading and offtake logistics. Landowners receive a long‑term revenue stake, and NexGen maintains control over execution quality and commissioning timelines.
Technology and Innovation
NexGen’s CBG plants use anaerobic digestion in dome‑digester architecture to process agricultural residue, food waste, animal manure, as well as spent wash and stillage from molasses‑based and grain‑based distilleries. Gas upgrading is achieved through Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA), membrane separation and amine‑scrubbing technologies supplied by partners Thermax and Paques, allowing flexibility across feedstock types and plant sizes. The pipeline also includes plans to commercialise briquettes derived from digestate.
Partnerships and Market Outreach

The expansion aligns with the Government of India’s GOBARdhan National Circular Bioenergy Scheme, a ten‑year, ₹23,731 crore programme intended to increase domestic CBG production nearly ten‑fold.
