Nexteer Automotive Opens New Liuzhou Plant
On 24 September 2026, Nexteer Automotive (Liuzhou) Co., Ltd. announced the official opening of its new manufacturing complex in Liuzhou, China. The facility spans more than 40,000 square metres and incorporates modern production lines, research‑and‑development laboratories, a test track, an employee centre and supporting infrastructure.
Since establishing its Liuzhou operations in 2015, Nexteer has produced over 12 million steering‑system units at the site. The new plant is designed to meet rising demand from both domestic and global customers and to underpin further expansion into overseas markets such as Southeast Asia. It will focus on key product families including Column‑Assist Electric Power Steering (EPS) systems, manual steering gears, motor‑controller modules, controllers, motors and related components.
The transition of production to the new site will be guided by digital, automated and lean operating models, which Nexteer expects will markedly improve production efficiency, product quality and customer responsiveness. An industrial park for supplier collaboration is planned around the plant, aiming to deepen value‑chain cooperation, boost supply‑chain resilience, provide localized support and enhance overall operational efficiency, thereby strengthening the regional automotive‑components ecosystem.
The plant also aligns with the industry’s accelerated shift toward electrification, intelligent mobility and software‑defined vehicles. Its high‑standard manufacturing platform and flexible production capabilities are intended to support the scaled delivery of existing core products while providing the flexibility required for future deployment of advanced technologies such as Motion‑by‑Wire™ across steering, braking and software domains.
