Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is 88% complete on ₹924.44 crore four-laning of 33.4 km Tejaji Nagar–Balwara NH-347BG stretch.
Project includes three tunnels (575m Bherughat, 480m Baigram, 550m Choral Ghat) using New Austrian Tunnelling Method to bypass dangerous ghat sections.
Will reduce Indore-Omkareshwar travel time from 2-3 hours to 1 hour and improve connectivity for Simhastha 2028 pilgrim traffic.
Addresses major accident black spots, improves safety with modern drainage, crash barriers, and supports regional economic activity.
