Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari performed the bhoomipujan ceremony for a Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Sindi Railway in Wardha district on November 1, 2026. The project is being developed by National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle of NHAI, through AMARA TRANZ Solution across 150 acres of land near Sindi Railway station, with joint development by NHLML and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA).

The logistics park will enable direct exports of cotton, cotton lint, yarn, oranges, and vegetables from Vidarbha to international markets through JNPA, significantly reducing transportation time for cargo moving through the Mumbai-Colombo-Dhaka route. The project will reduce transportation costs per container from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹1 lakh, particularly benefiting farmers in the Vidarbha region. Through the dry port at Sindi Railway, goods will be transported directly to Bangladesh via Haldia in Kolkata, eliminating the need to travel to Mumbai.

The facility will include cold storage, warehouses, and exporter clusters, enabling consolidation of major industries from Nagpur and Wardha. A customs office will be established at Sindi Railway to handle containers from across India and abroad. The project has already commenced operations with the first rake carrying Maruti cars. Developed with funding provisions from both Central and State Governments on the Nagpur-Wardha district border, the multi-modal logistics park is expected to create employment opportunities for local residents while strengthening the region's logistics and export infrastructure.
