NICMAR New Brand Identity Overview
NICMAR, an autonomous, non‑governmental, not‑for‑profit institute founded in 1983 and recognised as India’s only premier CRIP (Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Project) education institute, announced a refreshed brand identity on 4 November 2026. The rebranding, conceptualised by the global brand‑consulting firm Landor, unifies all NICMAR entities under a single visual language, modernising the institute’s appearance and providing an adaptable design system that includes an evolved colour palette, integrated typography and a flexible visual language suitable for all platforms and formats.
The institute released a dedicated brand film (available at www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BT144ls9mQ) that traces NICMAR’s journey from its inception during India’s early modernisation phase to its current role in shaping the nation’s built environment. The film underscores the institution’s ambition to remain future‑focused, strengthen stakeholder engagement and inspire the next generation of infrastructure professionals.
Director General Dr Tapash Kumar Ganguli explained that India’s infrastructure ambitions, reflected in the Union Budget 2026‑27’s allocation of INR 12.22 lakh crore to public capital expenditure and the National Monetisation Pipeline 2.0’s estimated monetisation potential of INR 16.72 lakh crore for FY2026‑30, create long‑term opportunities that require professionals with combined engineering knowledge, technology acumen, financial discipline and project‑management expertise. He emphasized that NICMAR must think beyond the next five to ten years and prepare talent for the next 60 years of infrastructure planning, construction and management.
Director and Head of Admissions and Marketing Gaurav Bajpai added that the rebranding signals NICMAR’s commitment to remain rooted in its legacy while projecting a forward‑looking image. He highlighted the brand film’s narrative linking the institute’s historical contributions to India’s development with future opportunities, and noted that the new visual identity is designed to inspire and attract the next generation of professionals.
The refreshed identity also aligns NICMAR with emerging industry trends such as AI‑enabled project controls, digital construction, climate‑resilient design, new real‑estate asset classes and comprehensive infrastructure asset management. By strengthening the connection between academic learning, applied research and industry needs, NICMAR aims to enhance practical learning, foster greater collaboration with leading construction companies and deliver specialised capabilities that meet these evolving requirements.
NICMAR operates campuses in Pune and Hyderabad and maintains a broader institutional presence across Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi‑NCR and Mumbai. The institute is backed by several of the country’s largest construction firms and is recognised globally for its contributions to the built environment.
