Launch of nSEPIA – AI‑Powered Emotion Detection and Wellness Application
On August 28, 2026, in Mumbai, Nihilent Limited, a global technology and consulting firm, announced the worldwide launch of nSEPIA, an artificial‑intelligence‑driven emotion detection and emotional‑wellness app designed for everyday use. The application is now downloadable internationally on both Android and iOS platforms.
nSEPIA operates through a brief, non‑invasive interaction that utilizes the device’s camera. Its proprietary Emotion AI, built on the Emoscape™ medical‑grade platform, analyses subtle spatial and temporal movement patterns across the face, eye region, head, and upper‑body to assess the user’s current emotional state. All processing occurs on the device to safeguard user privacy.
Based on the detected emotion, nSEPIA recommends personalised interventions that span four categories: music, breathwork, yoga, and meditation. The musical component includes Indian classical ragas, Western symphonic pieces, and specially created compositions. Yoga and breathwork experiences draw on established Indian traditions, notably practices influenced by the B.K.S. Iyengar lineage, and have been shaped with inputs from relevant experts. After engaging with an intervention, users can reassess their emotional state, observe any change, and repeat the cycle of awareness, response, and reflection.
The underlying technology, Emoscape™, employs artificial intelligence, computer vision, and machine learning within a proprietary, patent‑protected framework rooted in the Navarasa principles described in the Natyashastra. Although originally designed for professional and institutional contexts, nSEPIA extends this emotion‑awareness capability to individual consumers.
Founder and Executive Chairman L.C. Singh emphasized that the app translates years of research on how emotions influence thinking, decision‑making, and relationships into a practical tool that helps individuals become aware of emotions in the moment and take relevant steps toward balance. Consultant Psychiatrist and Professor Emeritus Dr. Vihang Vahia highlighted that providing an objective assessment of emotional states represents an important development, noting the scientific and academic validation of the platform.
Nihilent’s stated ambition with the global launch is to make emotional self‑awareness more accessible and actionable, enabling users to recognise emotions as they arise, engage with them consciously, and develop a more balanced relationship with their emotional lives. The initiative is encapsulated in the tagline “Emotions. In Balance.”
