Overview

Nikshan Electronics, a digital electronics and home retail brand founded in Kannur in 1996, operates eight stores across North Kerala—Kannur, Calicut, Kuttiady, Vadakara, Pazhayangadi, Cheruvathur, Peravoor—and recently opened an expo in Kanhangad. The company emphasizes a customer‑first approach, offering competitive pricing, extensive after‑sales service, and a trained sales team that learns the company culture at the flagship Kannur showroom before deployment to other locations.

Expansion Strategy

Rather than launching many outlets simultaneously, Nikshan ensures each new store reaches peak performance before opening the next. The recent Kanhangad expo generated “tremendous” footfall during its first three days despite being a soft launch and minimal marketing spend, prompting plans for a permanent Kanhangad store.

Product Portfolio

The retailer offers a comprehensive range of digital, electronics and home products, including smartphones, earphones, smartwatches, Bluetooth neckbands, power banks, speakers, televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, washer‑dryers, home theatres, robotic vacuum cleaners, kitchen appliances, water purifiers, lighting solutions, mattresses, pillows, home gym equipment, BBQ grills, gas stoves, electric kettles, massage chairs, sewing machines (Usha, Juki, Jack), inverters, inverter batteries, lithium‑ion inverters, geysers, and more. Major brands stocked comprise Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, Lloyd, TCL, Marshall, JBL, Dell, Philips, Dyson, Haier, Bosch, Carysil, Kaff, Elica, Faber, among others.

New Initiatives

  • EMI Partnership: Nikshan has partnered with Bajaj Finserv to introduce EMI schemes for products priced between ₹3,000 and ₹4,000, extending credit options to lower‑value items such as mixer grinders and induction cookers, as well as to home and soft‑furnishing items like mattresses.
  • EV Retail Franchise: Through the Nikshan Group, the company launched Crux Mobility, an automobile retail franchise that sells electric vehicles from Ather and Ultraviolette, marking its entry into the EV market.

Competitive Positioning

By focusing on high‑quality service, sequential store roll‑out, and extensive product coverage, Nikshan competes effectively with larger chains that rely on a higher number of outlets. The brand’s deep local trust, affordable EMI options, and robust after‑sales support are highlighted as key differentiators.
