Overview

Nikshan Electronics, a digital electronics and home‑appliance retailer, was founded in Kannur, Kerala, in 1996. Over the past three decades the company has grown to eight fully operational stores located in Kannur, Calicut, Kuttiady, Vadakara, Pazhayangadi, Cheruvathur, Peravoor and a recently launched Nikshan Expo in Kanhangad. The firm follows a deliberate expansion strategy, ensuring each outlet reaches peak performance before opening the next, and trains all sales staff at the flagship Kannur showroom to embed the company’s service culture.

Store Footfall and New Launch

The Kanhangad Nikshan Expo, introduced as a soft launch with minimal marketing spend, recorded extremely positive customer response and high footfall during its first three days, prompting plans for a permanent store at the same location.

Customer Experience Focus

Nikshan positions itself around superior customer experience, offering competitive pricing on branded products and a dedicated after‑sales service team that resolves complaints and troubleshooting issues promptly. Seasonal and off‑season sales are balanced through consistent offers and proactive communication, helping maintain steady footfall throughout the year.

Product Portfolio

The retailer’s product assortment spans the full spectrum of home needs, including smartphones, earphones, earbuds, smartwatches, Bluetooth neckbands, power banks, speakers, televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, washer‑dryers, home theatres, robotic vacuum cleaners, hoods & hobs, microwave ovens, OTGs, water purifiers, lighting solutions, crockery, utensils, mattresses, pillows, home‑gym equipment, BBQ grills, gas stoves, electric kettles, massage chairs, and sewing machines from brands such as Usha, Juki and Jack. It also stocks inverters, inverter batteries, lithium‑ion inverters, and geysers. The major brands represented are Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, Lloyd, TCL, Marshall, JBL, Dell, Philips, Dyson, Haier, Bosch, Carysil, Kaff, Elica, Faber, among others.

Diversification into EV Retail

Through its Nikshan Group, the company has launched Crux Mobility, an automobile retail franchise that sells electric‑vehicle brands Ather and Ultraviolette, extending its footprint into the emerging EV market.

Financing Initiatives

Nikshan has partnered with Bajaj Finserv to broaden its EMI financing options. New schemes now cover products priced between ₹3,000 and ₹4,000, enabling eligible consumers to purchase lower‑ticket items such as mixer grinders or induction cookers without full upfront payment. EMI options are also available for home and soft‑furnishing items, including mattresses from leading brands.

Strategic Outlook

The firm’s growth model emphasizes quality over quantity, focusing on deep local trust, extensive product availability, easy financing, and robust after‑sales support rather than expanding to a hundred‑store network. This approach aims to sustain customer loyalty and steady revenue streams across both urban and semi‑urban markets in North Kerala.
