NLC India Ghatampur Unit-3 Achieves Commercial Operation

Operational Update

Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NUPPL), a Joint Venture between NLC India Limited (51% stake) and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) (49% stake), has successfully achieved Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) for Unit-3 (660 MW) of the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project. The COD became effective from 00:00 hours on June 13, 2026.

Strategic Impact

With the declaration of COD of Unit-3, the Ghatampur Thermal Power Station (3×660 MW) is now fully commissioned and under commercial operation. This development will significantly strengthen the reliable and sustainable power supply to the State of Uttar Pradesh while contributing substantially to meeting the nation's growing energy requirements.

Capacity Expansion

The commissioning of Unit-3 increases NLC India Limited's group overall installed capacity from 7745 MW to 8405 MW, representing a capacity addition of 660 MW.
