Overview

Nongshim, the South Korean food company best known for its SHIN RAMYUN instant noodles, issued a press release on November 6, 2026 announcing a three‑week food‑truck campaign that will travel to 20 locations across four cities in Northeast India – Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl and Agartala – and will run through November 22, 2026.

Campaign Details

The mobile unit will offer free tastings of two products: the classic SHIN RAMYUN noodle soup and the newer SHIN RAMYUN Toomba variant. Both products will be prepared on‑site using instant noodle cooking machines, allowing visitors to experience the signature spicy flavours. In addition to tastings, the truck will sell the noodles directly and provide special discounts at nearby retail outlets, facilitating immediate purchase after sampling.

Marketing Activities

To amplify reach, the campaign incorporates a spin‑the‑wheel event that rewards visitors who share photos of their experience on social media. Nongshim will also partner with local influencers to generate online and offline buzz. Detailed stop locations and schedules will be released progressively on the official Nongshim India Instagram account, enabling consumers to track the truck’s movements.

Strategic Rationale

The company highlighted that Northeast India’s monsoon‑driven food culture favors warm, comforting dishes such as soups and noodles, and that the region exhibits a strong appetite for spicy flavours and a growing enthusiasm for Korean pop culture. By bringing the product directly to consumers, Nongshim aims to support its expanding retail distribution network and deepen brand awareness in a promising market.

Statement from Nongshim

A company spokesperson said, “Northeast India is a promising market where consumers have a strong appetite for spicy food and a growing interest in Korean culture. Through this campaign, we hope to bring SHIN RAMYUN closer to local consumers while supporting our expanding retail presence. We will continue to develop locally tailored marketing activities that reflect the tastes and preferences of consumers across India.”
