Nordex Q2 Order Intake Up 32%

Nordex SE shares climbed more than 4% on Thursday after the German wind‑turbine manufacturer disclosed that its Projects segment (excluding service business) recorded a second‑quarter 2026 order intake of 3,054 megawatts, representing a 32.2% increase over the 2,310 megawatts booked in the same quarter of 2025. For the first half of 2026, total order intake rose to 4,923 megawatts, a 9.6% year‑on‑year improvement from 4,492 megawatts in the first half of 2025.

The average sales price per megawatt of capacity was €0.97 million in Q2 2026, unchanged from the comparable period a year earlier. Over the first half of the year, the average price increased to €0.95 million per megawatt, up from €0.92 million a year earlier, a change the company attributed primarily to project‑scope and regional‑mix effects.

Customers placed orders for a total of 496 wind turbines across ten countries between April and June 2026. Germany, the United States and Türkiye emerged as the strongest individual markets, with the United States alone accounting for roughly 800 megawatts of the quarter’s order intake. Chief Executive Officer Jose Luis Blanco said the U.S. milestone reflects strong customer trust and the company’s organisational strength in the American market, and reaffirmed Nordex’s focus on reliable execution and continued growth alongside its customers.

Nordex highlighted that since its founding in 1985 it has commissioned more than 64 gigawatts of wind‑power capacity in over 40 markets worldwide. The group generated consolidated sales of approximately €7.6 billion in 2025 and employs more than 11,100 people. Its manufacturing footprint spans facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, the United States and Türkiye, and its product portfolio concentrates on on‑shore turbines in the 4‑ to 7‑megawatt‑plus class.
