Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) issued a press release on 29 August 2026 announcing that bookings are now open for its Summer 2028 itinerary season. The season will comprise more than 450 voyages deployed on 20 ships, sailing from 25 homeports and calling at nearly 150 destinations across 51 countries. NCL emphasizes that itineraries are designed for deeper exploration, with approximately 80 % of each sailing spent in port, an average port call exceeding ten hours, a total of 175 overnight stays and late‑departure options across 53 distinct destinations.

Promotional Offer

The company launched an “End of Summer Sale” running through 18 August 2026, providing up to 50 % discount on all cruises and a $750 onboard credit per stateroom on selected sailings, encouraging early bookings.

Destination Highlights

Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas)

The private island will feature Great Tides Waterpark with 19 waterslides, including the industry‑first dueling Master Blaster slides, tube slides and splash attractions. The ship Norwegian Aqua will debut its first full summer season offering three‑ and four‑night round‑trip Bahamas cruises from Miami, complemented by the Aqua Slidecoaster, world‑class entertainment and Mandara Spa treatments.

Caribbean Innovations

  • Norwegian Aura will operate seven‑day Eastern Caribbean round‑trips from Miami to Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands), Tortola (British Virgin Islands) and Great Stirrup Cay, featuring the Ocean Heights open‑air activities complex, Adventure Alley, Little Explorer’s Cove and a Teen Hangout.
  • Norwegian Prima will return to Galveston, Texas for seven‑day Western Caribbean itineraries that include Harvest Caye, Belize.
  • Norwegian Luna will undertake a special 10‑day repositioning voyage from Miami to New York City in May 2028, making inaugural calls to Aruba, Curaçao and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
  • Norwegian Escape will alternate Eastern and Western Caribbean round‑trips from Orlando (Port Canaveral), with calls to Great Stirrup Cay.

European Deployments

  • Norwegian Jewel will debut in Morocco with calls to Casablanca and Agadir on a 12‑day Canary Islands round‑trip from Barcelona, and will also run an 11‑day repositioning sailing Barcelona‑London (Southampton) in May 2028 and a nine‑day London‑Southampton round‑trip in September 2028. Baltic itineraries will connect London, Copenhagen and Helsinki with five round‑trips from Copenhagen visiting Tallinn, Riga and Klaipėda.
  • Norwegian Getaway will sail 10‑ and 11‑day Northern Europe routes between London (Southampton) and Reykjavik, Iceland, including inaugural calls at Grundarfjörður (Iceland) and Vik (Norway). Baltic Sea voyages will feature the ship’s first turnaround in Helsinki and a maiden call at Klaipėda, Lithuania.
  • Norwegian Dawn will call for the first time at Zadar, Croatia and Cagliari, Sardinia, operating 10‑ to 11‑day Mediterranean cruises from Lisbon, Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia) and Venice (Ravenna), visiting Marseille, Salerno, Koper and Kotor.
  • Norwegian Viva will continue 9‑, 10‑ and 12‑day Mediterranean itineraries between Rome, Venice, Barcelona and Istanbul, offering overnight stays in Istanbul and late departures in Santorini, Mykonos and Livorno (Florence/Pisa).
  • Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Pacific will provide Greek Isles, British Isles and Northern Europe voyages with multiple ports including Athens, Belfast, Edinburgh, Invergordon and new calls at Klaipėda.

Alaska Program

From April to October 2028, four ships—Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Jade—will operate Alaska sailings. Encore, Bliss and Joy will run seven‑day round‑trips from Seattle’s Pier 66 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with Joy also offering 9‑ to 11‑day itineraries. Jade will sail seven‑day voyages from Vancouver or Whittier, cruising Glacier Bay or Hubbard Glacier, and will be complemented by NCL Cruisetours featuring Denali National Park and the Alaska Railroad.

Bermuda & East Coast

NCL will sail Bermuda itineraries for a fifth consecutive season from New York, Boston and Philadelphia. Norwegian Gem will debut in Philadelphia in April 2028, offering seven‑day Bermuda cruises with overnight stays at the Royal Naval Dockyard and a call at Norfolk, Virginia. Norwegian Luna will also sail five‑ and seven‑day Bermuda trips from New York, while Norwegian Breakaway will continue week‑long Boston sailings with additional calls at Halifax, Nova Scotia.

South Pacific & Asia

Norwegian Spirit will home‑port in Sydney, Lautoka (Fiji), Papeete (French Polynesia) and Honolulu from April through October 2028, delivering 11‑ to 13‑day itineraries that visit New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Samoa, the Cook Islands, Bora Bora, Moorea, Raiatea, Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Apia and Hawaii.
