Nvidia and MediaTek Expand AI Partnership
Nvidia and MediaTek announced an expansion of their collaboration on Monday, targeting AI computing platforms across three pillars: infrastructure, local computing and automotive. As part of the expanded deal, Nvidia placed a $3.5 billion investment in convertible bonds issued by MediaTek, cementing its financial commitment to the partnership.
The partnership will see MediaTek adopt Nvidia’s NVLink Fusion platform, providing hyperscalers, cloud service providers and frontier‑model developers a pathway to create custom XPUs and integrate them into Nvidia NVLink‑connected, rack‑scale AI factories. For AI infrastructure, MediaTek will work within the NVLink Fusion ecosystem to enable customers to develop bespoke AI infrastructure that seamlessly integrates with Nvidia’s rack‑scale systems and AI factories.
Both companies will continue joint development of multiple generations of Nvidia RTX Spark and DGX Spark PC chips, which power consumer PCs, AI‑focused supercomputers and enterprise‑class workstations. In the automotive arena, the firms will keep co‑creating platforms for AI‑powered, software‑defined vehicles, leveraging MediaTek’s Dimensity Auto platforms that embed Nvidia technologies to deliver AI capabilities and Nvidia RTX graphics for intelligent vehicle cockpits, compatible with Nvidia DRIVE AGX.

The NVLink Fusion platform supplies the foundation for multi‑die XPU development, encompassing the Nvidia NVLink Fusion chiplet, Nvidia NVLink‑C2C for XPU‑to‑CPU connectivity, and Nvidia NVHBM for high‑bandwidth memory. MediaTek previously collaborated with Nvidia on the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip that powers Nvidia DGX Spark, and the two have extended their work on Nvidia RTX Spark to power the next generation of consumer PCs.
