Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on June 15, 2026. The signing ceremony took place at OIL House, Noida.

The MoU was signed by the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of OIL and the Director General of CSIR, in the presence of the Managing Director of NRL, other Directors of OIL, and senior officials from both organizations.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to foster joint research, innovation, and technology development in the energy sector. Specific focus areas include:

  • Upstream and downstream oil and gas operations
  • Hydrocarbon reservoir optimization
  • Enhanced oil recovery (EOR)
  • Renewable energy
  • Sustainable energy practices
  • Critical minerals

The partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to develop efficient and cost-effective solutions with a focus on improving operational efficiency. This initiative underscores OIL's commitment to strengthening its technological capabilities through strategic collaborations with premier research institutions in India.
