OpenAI, Anthropic JV Seek AI Acquisitions, $5.5B

OpenAI and Anthropic are negotiating joint‑venture acquisitions of AI services firms to boost engineering capacity for corporate model deployment.
OpenAI’s "Deployment Company" has raised over $4 billion from 19 investors, valued at $10 billion, with OpenAI retaining majority control.
Anthropic’s JV secured $1.5 billion, led by Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, with $300 million from three firms and $150 million from Goldman Sachs and General Atlantic.
The capital will fund acquisitions of engineering and consulting firms, expanding AI deployment capabilities and opening new commercial markets for AI technologies.
