Orion Innovation, a data and AI‑enabled software engineering services partner, announced a co‑branded Applied Generative AI elective program in partnership with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, one of India’s top multidisciplinary universities.
The program is being delivered across three Amrita campuses: Amritapuri (Kollam), Coimbatore, and Bangalore.
More than 70 students, currently in their sixth semester, have enrolled in the elective, gaining hands‑on exposure to emerging AI technologies, enterprise use cases, and industry‑aligned problem‑solving approaches.
High‑potential students will be considered for internship opportunities with Orion, creating a direct pathway from academic learning to practical industry experience.
Curriculum topics include Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic frameworks, Responsible AI, LLM security, fine‑tuning, and autonomous agents.
Technical platforms covered are Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Google Gemini and Vertex AI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Hugging Face, LangChain, Ollama, and vector‑database technologies.
The collaboration is formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that also encompasses faculty enablement programs, knowledge‑sharing opportunities, and ongoing collaboration between academic experts and Orion teams to keep academic delivery aligned with evolving industry needs.
