Overview

Pawfence, a startup founded by Vidit Soni, announced the launch of its herbal, scent‑based dog‑repellent spray on 24 June 2026. The product is designed to protect homes, vehicles, gardens, parking areas, entrances and other shared spaces by creating a non‑harmful boundary that discourages street dogs from entering or repeatedly marking those locations, without causing physical injury.

Market Context

Street‑dog conflicts in Indian cities often result in torn two‑wheeler seats, damaged vehicle covers, urine marking, dogs blocking entrances and groups gathering in parking areas. These issues can be costly, unhygienic and frightening, especially for children, senior citizens and individuals uncomfortable around dogs. Existing mitigation methods—spikes, physical barriers, chasing, or unsafe substances—are considered extreme or ineffective, prompting demand for a kinder, practical solution.

Product Details

The Pawfence spray is applied to the environment rather than directly to the animal. Its herbal scent forms an invisible boundary that dogs naturally avoid, allowing owners to safeguard their spaces without resorting to harmful measures. The brand’s tagline, “Because care means clear boundaries,” encapsulates this philosophy.

Development History

Work on the product began in May 2024. Over a two‑year period, the team formulated and tested more than 50 variations before finalising the current version. The development leveraged over four decades of veterinary and animal‑care expertise accumulated by the founder’s family‑run company, Salutri Remedies, which was established in 2008.

Founder Background

Vidit Soni comes from a family with a long history in veterinary healthcare. He holds a background in pharmacy and strategic marketing, which helped him identify the gap between animal welfare and the everyday challenges faced by homeowners, vehicle owners, housing societies, schools and businesses.

Strategic Aim

Beyond commercial sales, Pawfence aspires to foster coexistence between humans and street dogs as Indian cities expand. Vidit states, “We believe people should be able to protect their spaces without harming the dogs around them.” The brand positions itself as a bridge for harmonious shared spaces, offering an alternative to spikes or chase methods.
