Pehal organization has allocated financial assistance of ₹1 lakh to each of 100 self‑help groups in Basti district, Uttar Pradesh, for preparing “Ram Ji Ka Peda”.
Pehal has distributed sewing machines to 1,000 women in the same district to produce “Ram Ji Ka Jhola” cloth bags, with the women singing “Ram Ji Ka Sohar” during preparation.
A grand event is scheduled for 25 May 2026, where 2,100 women from Basti will collectively sing “Ram Ji Ka Sohar”, aiming for inclusion in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The initiative is framed as celebrating the emergence of a “New India” following the declared eradication of Naxalism after 31 March 2026, honoring the efforts of the Prime Minister and Home Minister.
