Pepper Announces Agent Atlas AI Agent
Pepper unveiled Agent Atlas, an artificial‑intelligence‑driven agent that performs generative engine optimization (GEO) work, at the third edition of its Index GEO Growth Summit held in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The summit follows previous events in San Francisco and New York and was attended by more than 150 marketing leaders.
Product Functionality and Deployment
Agent Atlas is embedded as the chat layer of Pepper’s GEO platform and is automatically enabled on every Pepper account from the launch date; there is no self‑serve option and clients do not log in directly – Pepper manages the access. The agent processes a user’s question as an analyst would, runs across AI search visibility, rankings, analytics and content in a single pass, displays current performance, recommends actions ordered by impact, and, once approved, executes the recommended work.
Operational Impact
According to Pepper’s co‑founder and CEO Anirudh Singla, the analysis time that previously required two weeks now completes through Atlas in minutes, allowing teams to focus on leads and business outcomes. COO Rishabh Shekhar emphasized that the system does not rely on a single AI visibility score because repeated prompts to the same model can yield different answers; instead, contracts will contain a full strategy, a projected performance number, embedded KPIs, weekly baseline reviews and an annual term that is retained only if the metric improves.
Market Perspective
During the launch, Sangeeta Bavi, Head of Sales for Digital Natives, Startups and Growth at Anthropic, framed the test: “If you search for your product or brand, is it discoverable, and will an agent actually complete the transaction?”
Partner Anant Vidur Puri of Bessemer Venture Partners argued that AI must be central to marketing strategy for speed, while Ashutosh Wadhwani, Head of Growth at Swiggy, urged marketers to “stop optimizing for clicks, start optimizing for recommendations and citations.”
Measurement Framework
Pepper clarified that it will not sign contracts based on a one‑shot AI visibility score because AI engines are “black boxes” and attribution is uncertain. Instead, contracts will stipulate a comprehensive strategy, a projected performance number before signing, KPIs, weekly reviews against a baseline, and an annual term contingent on metric movement. The company’s measurement chain spans earned authority, third‑party source agreements, citations and mentions, branded search lift, and demand generation.
Attendance and Endorsements
The Index summit in Bengaluru gathered over 150 senior marketing executives, who heard the launch and the supporting remarks from Bessemer’s Anant Vidur Puri and Swiggy’s Ashutosh Wadhwani, both endorsing the shift toward AI‑driven organic growth.
