Leadership Election of Plastindia Foundation (2026‑2028 Term)

Plastindia Foundation announced the election of its new Managing Committee during the Annual General Meeting held on 30 July 2026 at the Foundation’s office in Mumbai. Dr. Raju Desai was elected President for the 2026‑2028 term, succeeding Mr. Ravish Kamath, who completed the 2023‑2026 term and oversaw the successful organization of PLASTINDIA 2026. Mr. Dharmendra Gandhi was appointed Vice President, and Dr. Sameer Joshi was named Honorary Treasurer; both assume office with immediate effect.

President – Dr. Raju Desai

Dr. Desai is a distinguished entrepreneur with over four decades of experience in plastics manufacturing, technology, and industry development. He serves as Chairman of the Jyoti Group, Vice President of Plastindia International University, Past President of the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA), Chairman of the National Advisory Board of Plastivision India, and has previously held the Vice President role at Plastindia Foundation. In his acceptance statement, he highlighted that the Indian plastics industry is entering a transformative phase driven by innovation, sustainability, circular‑economy initiatives, and manufacturing excellence, and pledged to work with the Managing Committee, industry associations, government bodies, and stakeholders to strengthen India’s position as a global plastics manufacturing hub while promoting responsible growth, technological advancement, skill development, and sustainability.

Vice President – Mr. Dharmendra Gandhi

Mr. Gandhi is the Co‑founder of the Mutual Group and brings more than four decades of experience, having pioneered advanced polymer processing technologies in India. He has served as President of the Organization of Plastic Processors of India (OPPI) and contributed to several industry bodies. In his remarks, he affirmed Plastindia Foundation’s role as a driving force behind the growth and global recognition of the Indian plastics sector and expressed his commitment to promote innovation, sustainability, industry collaboration, and value creation for all stakeholders.

Honorary Treasurer – Dr. Sameer Joshi

Dr. Sameer Joshi was appointed Honorary Treasurer; the release does not provide additional biographical details.
