The verse states: "कारुण्येनात्मनो मानं तृष्णां च परितोषतः। उत्थानेन जयेत्तन्द्रीं वितर्कं निश्चयाज्जयेत्॥" which translates to conveying that self-respect is achieved through compassion toward others, greed is overcome by contentment with one's fortune, and laziness and indecisiveness are conquered through exertion and entrepreneurship. The Prime Minister accompanied the verse with commentary noting that "compassion brings self-respect and contentment brings true happiness," adding that this spirit strengthens the bonds of cooperation and harmony in society.
