Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has been declared as the successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for establishing an Inter-State Transmission System. The project is titled "Transmission system for Integration of Power from RE Projects in Jam Khambhaliya REZ in Gujarat - Phase II (5500MW) and Jamnagar Phase-I (1000 MW)" with a total capacity of 6500MW.
The project will be executed on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The discovered tariff for the project is Rs. 822.91 crore per annum. The Letter of Intent (LoI) was received by POWERGRID on 21st August, 2026.
Project Scope
The transmission project involves:
- Establishment of a new GIS substation at Kalyanpur, Gujarat
- ICT augmentation works at under-construction substations in Gujarat
- Bay extension works at under-construction substations in Gujarat
- Construction of 765 kV transmission lines traversing the state of Gujarat
