POWERGRID Wins WR-ER Transmission Project Bid

Project Award Details

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been declared as the successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) to establish an Inter-State Transmission System for the project "WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme Part-A". The project will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The Letter of Intent (LoI) was received by POWERGRID on 16th June, 2026.

Project Scope and Infrastructure

The project comprises:

• Establishment of 2 new 765/400kV Sub-stations in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh
• Extension of existing Sub-stations in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal
• Construction of 765kV & 400kV transmission lines traversing through Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha
