The press release dated July 1 2026 announces that Praveen Raju, a veteran Indian educator, will launch Sagebrook International School in Hyderabad’s Financial District in July 2026. The new institution will operate as an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) candidate school and marks Raju’s fourth and most ambitious educational venture.

Partnership and Design

Sagebrook is being established in partnership with Whitgift School, a United Kingdom‑based independent school, bringing together Whitgift’s academic legacy and Raju’s research‑led early‑childhood approach. The campus has been designed by internationally recognised school architect Prakash Nair and incorporates biophilic and neuro‑inclusive design principles.

Admissions and Programme

The school will admit its inaugural cohort ranging from Beginnings through Grade 2, with admissions currently open. The curriculum will follow the IB Primary Years Programme framework, emphasizing a holistic, inquiry‑based learning model.

Founder’s Background

Praveen Raju entered the education sector in 2007 as Executive Director of Indus International School, Hyderabad, later becoming Founding Chairman of Indus Early Years, the group’s early‑childhood arm. In 2011 he founded Suchitra Academy, which now serves over 2,200 students and is ranked among India’s top ten schools in its category. Suchitra Academy has been named the number‑one multi‑sport school in India by Education World, featured in Fortune Magazine’s Future 50 Schools, listed among Forbes’ Great Indian Schools, and certified as a Great Place to Work.

Sports Academy and Mentorship

In 2016 Raju founded the Suchitra Badminton Academy, where he personally mentored Badminton World Champion PV Sindhu during her early competitive years and also trained world‑class athletes such as Boxing World Champion Nikhat Zareen.

Recognitions and Leadership Roles

Raju has been honoured as a Technology Trailblazer by the Economic Times and was featured among the 25 Leaders Reinventing K‑12 Education by Education World. He served as Co‑Chairman of FICCI ARISE through 2023 and currently holds the position of President of ARISE, India’s largest network of school leaders. He also contributed to the drafting of India’s National Education Policy.
