Announcement
Qingpu Bailian Outlets Plaza in western Shanghai opened its second phase on 21 September 2026, expanding the 20‑year‑old shopping destination.
Scale and Mix
The integrated complex now covers 200,000 square metres and hosts more than 500 brands. Parking capacity exceeds 3,000 spaces. The new phase introduces 27 brands making their first appearance at an outlet in Shanghai, China or globally, and adds product categories such as electronics, appliances, local designer labels and pet‑focused lifestyle offerings, alongside new riverside shopping and leisure spaces.
Cultural Programme
A Su Dongpo‑themed cultural trail runs through the outlet, comprising seven installations where visitors can collect stamps, enjoy Song‑style tea and participate in hands‑on activities from 21 September to 31 October. An evening light show titled “Su Dongpo: Into a Dream” projects poetry‑inspired scenes onto a parking structure, and more than 50 brands are offering Su‑themed products and collaborations.
Visitor Experience Enhancements
The outlet now provides multilingual information, self‑service tax‑refund terminals, cross‑border payment options, real‑time parking information, dedicated coach parking, valet service, pet‑friendly facilities, children’s amenities and accessible facilities.
Promotions
To celebrate the opening, promotions for members and visitors—including shopping vouchers, new‑member benefits, travel perks, refund‑upon‑purchase for overseas shoppers, limited‑time giveaways and group‑buying deals on three major lifestyle platforms—are being offered.
Operator Positioning
The expansion signals the operator’s intent to move beyond a traditional outlet mall by integrating cultural and leisure experiences, aiming to develop Qingpu Bailian Outlets into a leading outlet destination in Asia. The outlet has held the No. 1 ranking in China for single‑store outlet sales for 14 consecutive years.
