TDS Procedures and Requirements
For Resident Shareholders
- Standard TDS rate: 10% (with valid PAN)
- Higher TDS rate: 20% (without PAN/invalid PAN/inoperative PAN)
- Exempt categories: Insurance companies, mutual funds, provident funds, superannuation funds, gratuity funds, NPS Trust (with specific documentation)
- Required documents: PAN verification, Form 121 for nil deduction, lower withholding tax certificate under Section 395(1)
For Non-Resident Shareholders
- Standard TDS rate: 20% plus applicable surcharge and cess
- Treaty benefits available upon submission of: PAN card, Tax Residency Certificate (valid for TY 2026-27 or calendar year 2026), electronically furnished Form 41, declaration of no permanent establishment in India (Annexure 3), treaty eligibility declaration (Annexure 4)
- FIIs/FPIs must provide SEBI registration certificate and declare investment route (FDI or FPI)

- Email submissions will not be considered
- Deadline: August 14, 2026, 5:00 PM IST
Additional Requirements
- Shareholders must ensure bank account details are updated in demat accounts for electronic dividend credit
- Physical shareholders must update KYC details: PAN, contact details, mobile number, bank account details, signature
- TDS certificates will be emailed to registered email IDs post-dividend payment
- Shareholders can view TDS credit in Form 26AS via income tax e-filing portal
