Ltd., issued a press release on 16 September 2026 outlining a strategic growth plan that targets a five‑fold increase in its hospital laboratory management (HLM) footprint in Bengaluru and a three‑fold expansion of its lab‑to‑lab referral network across Karnataka by the end of 2028.

Current Operations (as of August 2026)

  • The company presently supports 12 hospital laboratory operations in Bengaluru under its HLM model.
  • It receives specialised referral investigations from more than 190 hospitals and laboratories throughout Karnataka.

Expansion Targets for 2028

  • Hospital partnerships: Increase from 12 to 60 hospital laboratory partnerships in Bengaluru.
  • Referral network: Grow the lab‑to‑lab referral base from over 190 to more than 600 partners across Karnataka.
  • The higher network density is expected to improve sample logistics, utilisation of advanced diagnostic platforms, and patient access to specialist laboratory services.

Partnership Models

QXL will develop its institutional network through three complementary models:

1. Hospital Laboratory Management (HLM): QXL assumes a broad operational role, integrating routine testing, specialised diagnostics, quality processes, manpower, technology and reference laboratory services within the onsite hospital lab.

2. Laboratory Management Services (LMS): Hospitals retain their own laboratory infrastructure while QXL provides technical operations support, workflow optimisation, quality systems, turnaround‑time management and structured referral pathways.

3. Lab‑to‑Lab Referral Testing: Hospitals and independent labs continue routine investigations locally and refer advanced, specialised and super‑speciality investigations to QXL’s reference laboratories.

These models are designed to keep essential testing close to patients while sharing advanced technology and specialist expertise across a wider network.

Specialist Laboratory Medicine and Clinical Support

QXL places specialist clinical laboratory professionals—Clinical Biochemists, Pathologists and Microbiologists—at the centre of the diagnostic process, enabling clinicians to discuss unexpected results, methodology, reflex testing and clinical correlation. The organisation is also developing disease‑, syndrome‑ and speciality‑oriented diagnostic pathways to align investigations more closely with clinical questions.

Quality Systems and Accreditation

The company’s laboratory management framework emphasises qualified manpower, validated processes, equipment calibration, internal quality control, external quality assurance, reagent management, equipment maintenance, sample integrity, turnaround‑time monitoring, competency assessment, critical‑result communication, documentation and laboratory information systems. Dr. Shantakumar Muruda, a Clinical Biochemist with over two decades of experience, serves as a NABL Lead and Technical Assessor and has participated in more than 150 NABL laboratory assessments across India, leveraging this expertise to drive accreditation‑readiness across partner hospitals.
