Ramaiah Group partnered with University at Albany (State University of New York) to establish the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), India’s first greenfield deemed‑to‑be university dedicated to STEM and management education.
RISM will provide undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, initially offering B.Tech in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Sciences, as well as BBA (Technology Management) and MBA degrees.
The academic model features co‑created curricula with industry partners, industry‑embedded three‑year capstone projects, Mentor Professors (senior industry leaders as faculty), and industry‑sponsored Centres of Excellence for hands‑on learning.
Operations will begin at a transit campus in Yelahanka in August 2026, with the fully residential main campus in Bengaluru’s Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) expected to be operational by September 2028.
Key officials at the launch included Dr. M. R. Jayaram (Chairman, Gokula Education Foundation), Dr. N. D. Gangadhar, Dr. B. N. Raghunandan, Gurucharan Gollakeri (Executive Director & Chief Strategy Officer) and J. D. Desai (Registrar).
