The Ramaiah Group’s Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) partnered with University at Albany, State University of New York to launch the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), India’s first greenfield deemed‑to‑be university in Bengaluru.
Academic activities will commence at a transit campus in Yelahanka in August 2026; the main residential campus in the IT Investment Region near Devanahalli is slated for full operation by September 2028.
RISM will offer fully residential STEM and management programmes with industry‑embedded curricula, covering AI, cybersecurity, semiconductors, health equity, and climate change, and will incorporate a three‑year capstone, industry‑sponsored Centres of Excellence, and a Mentor Professor model.
Key leaders include Dr. M. R. Jayaram (Chairman, Trustee, Chancellor), Dr. Havidan Rodríguez (President, University at Albany), Sri Gurucharan Gollerkeri (Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer), and Prof. Raghunandan (Chairman, Task Force RISM).
