Ramaiah Group partnered with University at Albany (State University of New York) to establish Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), India’s first greenfield deemed‑to‑be university focused on STEM and management.
RISM will operate a transit campus in Yelahanka starting August 2026 and a fully residential main campus in Bengaluru’s Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) near Devanahalli, expected to be fully operational by September 2028.
The institute will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes including B.Tech in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Sciences, BBA (Technology Management) and MBA.
Curriculum features industry‑embedded design, Mentor Professors (senior industry leaders as formal faculty), three‑year capstone projects beginning in the second year, internships, live projects, and industry‑sponsored Centres of Excellence.
Schools include Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace Engineering, and Business, emphasizing interdisciplinary learning, translational research, year‑abroad opportunities, and immersive learning formats.
The campus location is adjacent to Aerospace Park, Special Economic Zone, Global Financial District and the upcoming Foxconn facility, facilitating strong industry‑academia collaboration.
Dr. M. R. Jayaram, Chairman and Trustee of Gokula Education Foundation, inaugurated RISM and highlighted the need for globally benchmarked higher‑education institutions.
Present at the press conference were Dr. N. D. Gangadhar (Dean of Governing Board), Dr. B. N. Raghunandan (Chairman of RISM), Gurucharan Gollakeri (Executive Director & Chief Strategy Officer), and J. D. Desai (Registrar).
The press meet was held on Monday, 1 June 2026 at the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management, Bengaluru.
