Launch Overview
The House of Rare, through its premium footwear label Rare’Z, introduced the DUST sneaker on 8 October 2026. Priced at ₹7,499, the shoe is sold across all exclusive brand stores, large‑format retail outlets, multi‑brand outlets, the company’s website and mobile app.
Design and Product Details
DUST combines archival‑inspired detailing with a contemporary fashion lens. The silhouette incorporates three distinct leather finishes—cracked, milled and smooth—creating contrast and depth. An interior Japanese‑print lining adds an unexpected detail, while the sole bears a reference to the year 2014 and a Rare’Z medal as a signature. The collection is offered in two expressions: a contrast‑toe leather sneaker and a retro‑racer silhouette. It is available in six colourways—Dark Navy, Black, Dusky Purple, Green, Sky Blue and White—and in India/UK sizes 6–11 (EU 40–45).
Collaboration and Heritage
The launch marks The House of Rare’s first collaboration with a sportsperson, mountaineer Arjun Vajpai, the youngest Indian to summit both Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse, a Guinness World Record holder and author of On Top of the World. The sneaker’s name, DUST, reflects the idea that a well‑worn shoe develops its own character over time, echoing the brand’s origin in 2014, which is subtly embedded as a signature throughout the design.
Founder’s Vision
Founder and Creative Director Manish Poddar explained that the aim was to create a sneaker that feels familiar without being nostalgic, capturing the “attitude of a lived‑in sporting shoe” and translating it into a contemporary Rare’Z silhouette.
