Overview

redBus announced on October 5, 2026, from Bengaluru, India, that it is expanding its digital booking platform for intercity bus travel by adding a suite of new features designed to make the booking experience more connected to the overall journey.

The platform now integrates search, comparison, seat selection, boarding and drop‑off point information, and real‑time journey updates within a single booking flow. Travelers entering a route and travel date can view all available services, filter results by departure timing, bus type, boarding location and drop‑off point, and compare operators and bus categories without leaving the booking page.

Where seat selection is supported, passengers can view the seat map, check available seats, and choose their preferred seat before completing the purchase, giving greater visibility into comfort preferences. For services that support it, redBus also offers live bus tracking, allowing users to monitor the real‑time location of their bus and better plan arrival at the boarding point.

After ticket confirmation, users can access their booking details digitally on their devices and, depending on the service terms, may benefit from flexibility‑related features that help accommodate changes in travel plans.

The press release emphasizes that digital booking is moving beyond mere payment and confirmation, becoming a broader travel tool that integrates practical journey‑planning elements directly into the booking experience, thereby helping passengers make more informed and convenient purchase decisions.
