RG Hospitals Marks Four Decades of Specialized Healthcare

On 26 June 2026, RG Hospitals (RG Stone Urology & Laparoscopy Hospital) announced the completion of 40 years of service since its establishment in 1986. Headquartered in New Delhi, the network has grown to 18 units spanning New Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Goa and Uttarakhand, making it the largest chain of urology and minimal access surgery hospitals in India.

The institution pioneered lithotripsy technology in 1987 and subsequently introduced advanced laser systems, first the 100‑W Holmium Laser and later the 152‑W Holmium Laser, the latter being the first of its kind in North India. In recent years, RG Hospitals has incorporated next‑generation robotic platforms, including the fourth‑generation da Vinci Xi Surgical System and the Versius robotic system, enabling complex procedures across urology, gynaecology, gastrointestinal, bariatric and colorectal specialties with reduced blood loss and shorter hospital stays.

Clinically, RG Hospitals reports having performed more than 750,000 procedures, treating patients ranging from seven months to 107 years of age. The group holds a Guinness World Record for treating the world’s largest kidney stone, measuring 13 centimetres. Recognition for its achievements includes the ET Inspiring Leaders Award 2023, Times Business Awards North 2023, Times Health Conclave & Awards 2024, and inclusion in the Forbes India DGEMS 2024 Select 200 list. It has also earned the Great Place to Work® certification for two consecutive years.

Managing Director & CEO Avinash Ojha stated that the 40‑year milestone reflects patient trust, clinician dedication, and a continuous commitment to innovation. He emphasized that RG Hospitals will keep strengthening its Centres of Excellence, expanding EI™ (Emotional Intelligence) enabled healthcare, investing in advanced surgical technologies, and advancing research, sustainability and community health initiatives as it moves into its fifth decade.
