Rivian Rolls Out R2 SUVs, $45k‑$57k Pricing

Rivian Automotive confirmed its first customer R2 midsize SUVs have begun rolling off the Normal, Illinois production line.
The R2 will be priced $45,000 for the base model and $57,000 for the performance version, with the base arriving next year.
Production shifted from a planned multibillion‑dollar Georgia plant to Illinois, saving billions in capital spending and speeding the launch.
Rivian aims to introduce Level 2 driver assistance this year and Level 3 highway autonomy next year, using R2 data for AI training.
