Roblox Announces Age‑Based Parental Controls, Stock Up 5%

Roblox shares jumped 5% on Monday after unveiling age‑based Roblox Kids (5‑8) and Roblox Select (9‑15) accounts.
Kids accounts limit games to Minimal or Mild ratings and disable chat; Select permits up to Moderate content with unchanged default chat.
Over 50% of global and 65% of U.S. daily active users have completed facial age verification since its introduction earlier this year.
Roblox will adopt the International Age Rating Coalition framework later this year, adding region‑specific ratings like ESRB and PEGI.
